Hey girl its been a while.I have kept with u on fb and just want to say I’m so happy for u. U have gone thru some things and u came out on the other side and its good to see u doing well. I hope when I go back to Austin I can see u perform.I still have ur first cd u gave me. U have a great talent and I don’t want to see it be wasted. I hope to hear from u.
Thank you Mayra. It’s nice to hear from you. We all have our journeys, and nothing is ever wasted. It’s a part of the path. I have no regrets, as all the “things” I went through got me to this point, and I would not have done it any other way. I write the songs I write because of where I’ve been. I’m glad you keep up with me, it’s not easy to do! If you’re wondering how I “came out on the other side,” (wherever that may be), I reached an all time low. So I was as far down as I could get before I got to this place, which I think is right in the middle. I’m on the edge of something really cool, which I like to call a career doing what I f’n LOVE! My days consist of work, rehearsal and then live music. Every day. And not to forget an AA meeting 5 days a week. If I dont surrender my will to something greater than me every day I am likely to go back to my old ways. I’ll be 2 years sober in 21 days. I’ve never been happier. I dont drink, and I save my life like that. None of this stuff matters if I dont stay sober, because I am not present to enjoy it. It sounds like you’re inspired by what I’m doing. That’s a good thing. I hope you are following your dreams. You are VERY beautiful and I remember you being a genuinely nice person. Good luck, beautiful!
